Netflix has confirmed a fifth and final season for the popular teen action-adventure drama Outer Banks. The series will officially conclude with Season 5, bringing an epic end to the story of the Pogues and their hunt for treasure.
Part two of the current season, which includes five new episodes, is set to premiere on November 7. The first half of Season 4, released on October 10, shot straight to No. 1 on Netflix’s global top 10 English TV chart and stayed in the Top 10 for three consecutive weeks.
Set along the scenic coastlines of North Carolina's Outer Banks, the series dives into the lives of local teens divided by class into "Kooks" and "Pogues." The story follows their adventures in romance and high-stakes treasure hunts, with a cast led by Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Charles Esten, and Drew Starkey.
In a heartfelt statement, series co-creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke shared the journey behind the show’s creation, inspired by a 2017 photo of teens on a beach at dusk. They described their vision for the Pogues’ five-season journey, adding that they’re thrilled to bring this adventure to a close. “Season Five will be our last season, and we think it will be our best yet,” they said. “We hope you’ll join us for one more paddle out to the surf break.”
With forty episodes already produced, the final season is expected to add 10 more, wrapping up the Pogues’ story as planned.
