| Amy Dowden gives health update in first TV interview after hospital dash |
Strictly Come Dancing returned with a bang for its special Icons Week on BBC One, marking 20 years of the beloved show. Professional dancer Amy Dowden, who partners JLS star JB Gill, was unable to perform after a health scare led her to be hospitalized last week as a precaution. Lauren Oakley stepped in to dance with Gill for their Couple’s Choice routine, a performance that wowed the judges and earned JB his first 10s of the season. Dowden, visibly moved, joined them in the Clauditorium as their scores were announced.
Icons Week brought a lineup of legendary music hits, featuring tributes to Whitney Houston, Shirley Bassey, and Queen. Topping the leaderboard with Gill and Oakley were Tasha Ghouri and her partner Aljaž Škorjanec, whose emotional Couple’s Choice to What About Us by P!nk also scored 39 points.
